 Residential Snow Removal

  • What is this service?
ACA is hired by properties during the winter to maintain walkways from snow and ice. It's our job to make sure these areas are cleared and hazard-free and remain that way until after the storm has passed. Our Snow Removal can service cemented path walks and driveway however we do not plow rock/gravel driveways.
  • What is actually being done during my service?

Each property has its own threshold for when we should be there to start clearing. This threshold ranges from trace to 3 inches. When a property is "trace", as soon as there is any accumulation on the ground, our teams will activate and begin their routes.  As walkways can become iced over and become a slip hazard, we will use ice melt salt as appropriate to help keep slick surfaces to a minimum.

    Terms associated with your visits:

Property Check - A property check is a visit when the threshold isn't quite met. The crew should walk the property and look at all areas that need to be cleared and make sure thresholds weren't met, clear paths to doors, and apply ice melt where needed.

Snow Removal - Normal snow removal operations of clearing sidewalks, stairs, and doorways if the property has met or exceeded its threshold. All snow must be pushed and piled in designated areas. Lay ice melt in slick spots to keep slip hazards away.

Ice Control - Typically an ice control visit will take place after a previous visit and the storm has passed. These visits include checking the entire property for slip hazards due to ice. Iced areas are best dealt with by clearing as much ice as possible with a shovel and then laying down ice melt.

We work safely and efficiently to get properties done in a timely manner.

Service Delivery

  • Who performs this service?
The snow removal crew performs this service. This team consists of trained experts with the knowledge, materials, and tools to manage snow and ice. The crew will arrive with proper equipment, such as shovels, snowblowers, and ice melts, to perform the service effectively and efficiently.

  • Can this crew perform additional services during my appointment?
To ensure that all clients are serviced with enough time to properly complete their appointment, our routes follow a strict schedule with appropriate time restraints.

We recommend that you contact our office if you need to add additional services to your appointment.   In addition, this crew will not have aerators, fertilization, installation, mowing, overseed, power rakes, or irrigation repair equipment with them for their appointments.

  • How will I know when my crew is going to arrive?
Threshold indicates the total accumulation needed to activate our snow removal crews to your property at 1, 2, or 3 inches. Our services are guaranteed within 6 hours of snowfall ending or once per day during continuous snowfall.

    Service Delivery
  • Do I need to be home?
We do not require clients to be home for the service, as they will activate automatically.
  • What will I see at the conclusion of the appointment?
The goal is to ensure that your driveway, sidewalks, stairs, crosswalks, doorways, and other areas around your home are free of snow and any hazards.

Timeline/Frequency

  • How long will the service take?
When our crew arrives at your property, the service takes, on average, about 15 minutes.  This time may fluctuate depending on the amount of snow.
  • How frequently should I have this service performed? Is this a recurring service?

Flat-Rate is a recurring service that is activated based on the amount of snowfall accumulation. It allows you peace of mind that we will take care of your snow removal upon hitting your snow accumulation threshold.

Per-Push is a one-time service that would be completed on the day of your scheduled time block even if snow is still falling. It provides more flexibility if you like shoveling your own driveway and sidewalks yet still have the option to have a solution in your back pocket in the event you don't want to brave the cold during/after particular snowstorms.
