Sprinkler Activation

  • What is this service?
Our irrigation experts will activate your system, inspect all components for leaks/damage, run through each zone to ensure proper coverage and functionality, and make any recommendations for repairs/improvements. They will also set your timer to appropriately match the seasonal conditions at the start of the season.
  • What is actually being done during my service?
During a sprinkler activation, one member of our crew will activate the supply valve and close the drain cap, they will need access to the interior of the home if your valve is located inside.  The crew will also need access to the irrigation timer in order to then run through the irrigation zones to ensure proper coverage.  While running through the zones, the technicians will make adjustments to the sprinkler heads if necessary.  They will also use this time to check for breaks or irrigation damage.

Service Benefits

  • As a customer, why should I want this service completed?
Having a well-maintained irrigation system is essential to a healthy landscape.  Our activation service is an excellent way to ensure that your lawn & plants are getting the water they require.  In addition, we can set up return visits if your irrigation system requires further repair or upgrades.

Optimal Timing

  • When is the best time of year to have this service completed?
We recommend activating your system when the chance for freezing temperatures has passed.  Colorado weather often allows for activation as early as May.

Service Delivery

  • Who performs this service?
Sprinkler Activation is performed by our irrigation crew. This team consists of trained experts who have the knowledge, materials, and tools to perform only sprinkler activation services.  This crew cannot perform repairs or installations during an activation appointment.

  • Can this crew perform additional services during my appointment?
To ensure that all clients are serviced with enough time to properly complete their appointment, our routes follow a strict schedule with appropriate time restraints.

We recommend reaching out to our office if you need to add additional services to your appointment.  This includes broken sprinkler heads. In addition, this crew will not have aerators, fertilization, installation, mowing, overseed, power rakes, or irrigation repair equipment with them for their appointments.

  • How will I know when my crew is going to arrive?
Upon scheduling an appointment with A Cut Above Landscape, you will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details. On the day of the appointment, you will receive an “our technicians are on their way”  text notification 30 minutes prior.

The text message will be sent to the phone number our client provides during scheduling.  We recommend confirming that you have selected a mobile number to receive this important message.

On the day of the service,  If the appointment is set for an AM time block, the crew will arrive between 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM. If the appointment is set for a PM time block, the crew will arrive between 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    Service Delivery
  • Do I need to be home?
We do require someone over the age of 18 to be home for this appointment, failure to do so will result in a $25 trip charge for the uncompleted appointment.
  • What will I see at the conclusion of the appointment?
Once your system is activated, you should see your timer running on a set schedule.  The schedule will allow your irrigation system to water according to the schedule for the duration programmed. You will also notice that your supply valve is open, and the valves are also open on your vacuum breaker.

Timeline/Frequency

  • How long will the service take?
A sprinkler activation service takes at most thirty minutes, depending on the number of zones in the system.  Our crews will have multiple technicians working simultaneously to offer a quick and efficient service.  If a system needs a repair or upgrade, an additional appointment may be necessary.
  • How frequently should I have this service performed? Is this a recurring service?
Sprinkler activation will only need to be completed when you initially activate your system for the year.  You will need to winterize the system before freezing temperatures approach your property.   Our calendar is open for the entire year, which allows you to schedule and prepay for your services in one sitting.
