What is this service?
For the past 30 years, A Cut Above Landscape has provided exceptional residential lawn care services in Colorado. We offer three maintenance packages customized to fit each client based on their future goals and current landscape. Each package includes a weekly appointment with our experienced crew members who work concurrently to offer an efficient result, in a timely manner.
Our starter maintenance package includes mowing of the turf areas, line trimming, and bi-weekly edging. For a full-service lawn care experience, we offer standard and premium packages which include the starter maintenance package, as well as additional seasonal services customized based on your package level. -
What is actually being done during my service?
Kick-Back Package (Starter)- includes mowing of the turf areas, line trimming in hard-to-reach areas for a clean consistent cut, and bi-weekly edging which creates clean, crisp lines between your lawn and adjacent driveways & walkways.
Rest-Easy Package (Standard)- Includes the Kick-Back Package, one overseed appointment with double pass aeration, one single pass aeration, three fertilizations, three revive applications, irrigation activation, irrigation winterization, and a discount on repair services.
Total Freedom (Premium)- Includes the Kick-Back Package, the Rest-Easy Package, two sprinkler audits, two sprinkler adjustments, single aeration upgraded to a double pass, additional fertilization, additional revive application, and two man-hours a month of maintenance services which can be used for weeding, shrub and plant trimming.
Service Benefits
- As a customer, why should I want this service completed?
Turf continues to grow in the fall, generally until the first hard frost. Once the first frost is over, you’ll want to mow your yard two or three times. The density of your grass increases during the fall, so you’ll want to keep it trimmed in order to allow new growth to form next spring. This is beneficial for your grass to heal from the stress of the summer months.
Optimal Timing
- When is the best time of year to have this service completed? When does ACA offer it?
- Maintenance packages can be purchased at any time in the season, however, the service begins in April and ends in October. If a client chooses a maintenance package with additional seasonal services included, they can expect those services to be scheduled automatically and during the appropriate time of the year.
- While we try to have a consistent schedule for maintenance seasonal service appointments, a client who begins their service after the season has begun will see an adjusted schedule that most benefits their property.

Service Delivery
- Who performs this service?
Maintenance crew. They are trained experts who are capable of performing different services such as Mowing, Trimming, Edging, Aeration, Fertilization, Overseeding, etc.
We don’t require someone to be home at the time of service as long as the crew has access to your property. The crew will send a text to give you a heads-up prior to their arrival. - Can this crew perform additional services during my appointment?
To ensure that all clients are serviced with enough time to properly complete their appointment, our routes follow a strict schedule with appropriate time restraints.
We recommend reaching out to our office if you need to add additional services to your appointment.
In addition, this crew will not have, aerating, fertilization, overseeding, installation, or irrigation repair equipment with them for their appointments. - How will I know when my crew is going to arrive?
Our operations management team will fit customers into our mowing routes into the most efficient spot. , Weather, Upon scheduling an appointment with A Cut Above Landscape, you will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details. On the day of the appointment, you will receive an “our technicians are on their way” text notification 30 minutes prior.
The text message will be sent to the phone number our client provides during scheduling. We recommend confirming that you have selected a mobile number to ensure you receive this important message.On the day of the service, If the appointment is set for an AM time block, the crew will arrive between 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM. If the appointment is set for a PM time block, the crew will arrive between 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Service Delivery
- How can I prepare for my appointment?
For best results, we advise our customers not to water the ground as the soil needs to be dry.
- Do I need to be home?
We do not require someone to be home at the time of service as long as the crew can access both front and back yards - What will I see at the conclusion of the appointment?
This would depend on the package that you will sign up for. However, our standard maintenance package includes mowing, line trimming, and edging.
Timeline/Frequency
- How long will the service take?
This is going to be a weekly service. We schedule your services so you don’t have to think about it and let you know when they are. You can schedule any services as desired.
- How frequently should I have this service performed? Is this a recurring service?
Power raking is recommended to be performed at most once a year, generally after the last of the snow melts away and the lawn has dried up in early Spring.
Payment Info
- How does the billing/pricing work for this service?
*How does the billing/pricing work for this service? TCMs are billed on the 1st of each month (April-October). Pricing is determined by yard turf size (measured on google maps) and package selected. There is a 5% discount for customers choosing to pay the full season total up front. A valid credit card must be put on file with autopay setup to confirm services.
Cancellation Info
- Can I cancel at any time? Is there a penalty for canceling? How do I cancel/modify my service?
We request you to cancel at least 48 hours before the appointment date. You may notify our office to process the cancellation. Your monthly price essentially bundles the total season price and finances those payments out monthly. Thus for prepaid services, refund will depend on the number of visit(s) remaining for the season.
Terms of Service
Prior to your appointment:
- Appointments cannot be modified/canceled within 48 hours of appointment time
- You will receive an ETA via email the day prior
- You will receive a text message when your appointment is next
- Cut & Clean services may be delayed by up to 24 hours on holiday weeks
- Cut & Clean services will not be performed in wet conditions in order to prevent damage to turf
- In the event that services are delayed for any reason, you will receive a service modification notification
- Please ensure that your sprinkler system is not set to water the evening prior or day of your
- Cut & Clean service. If you have selected a package that includes irrigation maintenance, we will set this programming for you
- Please ensure gates are unlocked prior to arrival or that we have been provided with gate codes. There is a $25 trip charge for return trips if the crew is unable to access all service areas
- Please make sure that yard is free of toys, trash, pet waste and other objects prior to service
During Your Appointment:
- You are not required to be present for Cut & Clean services as long as our crew can access all service areas
- Our expert crew will perform your Cut & Clean service utilizing industry best practices and top of the line equipment
- Litter/debris will removed prior to mowing when necessary. Excessive litter/debris accumulation may require an additional charge
- Clippings will be mulched whenever possible as this is the best practice for a healthy lawn. If there is excessive growth, clippings will be bagged
- Edging will occur every other week and only in areas where the grass meets a sidewalk, driveway, or curb
- All walkways, driveways, patios, and surrounding areas will be blown off following each visit to remove any clippings
- Downspouts will be lowered and gates shut following each visit
- If it is determined that we cannot effectively perform your service due to access issues, or pet waste, a return trip will be required and a trip charge will be assessed
After Your Appointment:
- You will receive a 'service complete' notification

- Cut & Clean Terms & Conditions
- You are not required to be present for these services as long as all service areas are accessible. A trip charge of $25 will be applied for return trips if the crew is unable to access all service areas (e.g. - locked gates)
- Your yard should be free of toys, trash, & pet waste prior to service. A trip charge of $25 will be applied for return trips if the crew is unable to effectively provide service due to the presence of these items
- Your Total Care Maintenance package includes Cut & Clean services on either a Weekly or Bi-Weekly (every other week) frequency. However, service frequencies will be reduced by half in April & October when your grass is not growing as rapidly in order to prevent damage from over-cutting. Your total contract price takes this service frequency reduction into account
- If your Total Care Maintenance package includes Overseeding service, Cut & Clean services will be paused for 14 days following Overseeding to avoid damage to new seed and allow for recommended heavy watering schedule. Your total contract price takes this service reduction into account
- Cut & Clean services that do not take place for reasons outside of A Cut Above's control (weather, customer request to skip, access issues, etc) will not be refunded. Your total contract price includes 5 free 'buffer visits' to account for the possibility of these issues

- Understanding Surcharge for Overgrown Lawns
- When you request lawn care services, it's crucial to provide an accurate assessment of your lawn's current length. ACA Landscape categorizes lawns with grass height exceeding 6 inches as 'overgrown'.
- Situations of overgrown lawns are not unusual in the landscape services sector. Typically, overgrowth is caused by newly acquired properties, deserted premises, neglectful tenants, or just being too preoccupied with life's demands to tend to the yard. All of these scenarios are understandable, and we're here to assist!
- When asking for our services, we estimate a standard measure of your grass length assuming under 6" unless otherwise noted by our customer. By submitting your order, you implicitly agree to any applicable overgrown charges necessary for properly servicing your lawn and reducing it to a manageable size. Be assured we'll always provide photographic proof to substantiate any overgrown charges.
- Overgrown Lawn Pricing Tiers:
- Grass 6"-12" tall, the revised rate will be +50% of the standard cutting cost. For instance, if the normal cut costs $30, the adjusted price will be $45.
- Grass 12"-24" tall, the revised rate will be +100% of the standard cutting cost. In this case, a $30 cut would increase to $60.
- Grass 24" or taller will require a custom quote for handling your unruly lawn, enabling smooth future services.
- Why does ACA Landscape charge more for overgrown lawns?
- That's a valid question! Here's an analogy: When you spill red wine on a carpet, immediate cleaning likely removes the stain. However, if the spill is not addressed promptly, you'll probably need to steam clean your carpet to remove the stain. Similarly, overgrown lawns demand more work to achieve the desired outcome.
- Overgrown, untamed lawns need to be mowed multiple times to attain a manageable size. A single, deep cut produces an uneven finish, leaving neither lawns aesthetically pleasing nor customers satisfied.
- Servicing overgrown lawns can lead to substantial wear and tear on the machinery compared to maintaining regularly groomed lawns. The ideal way to handle an overgrown lawn is to cut it once at a high deck setting, then again at a lower setting, repeating as needed to achieve a finely groomed lawn.
- Moreover, overgrown lawns can take two or three times longer to mow compared to well-maintained lawns. This extra time commitment increases labor costs. Thus, pricing is adjusted to reflect these additional efforts.
- How to avoid an overgrowth fee?
- Quite simple! Ensure regular mowing of your lawn. You are the best judge of your lawn's needs. Ideally, arrange for a weekly service to keep your lawn in top shape throughout the season without any hassle. Regular clients of ACA Landscape who do not miss appointments will never incur overgrowth fees.
